Dear multisync_5d,

Hello, Can you tell me the brand and model number of the optional CD drive. Looking forward to be the winner. Best regards, Pascal

BRETT RESPONSE:
Hello Pascal,
The brand of the external CDROM case is generic, and the brand of the CDROM drive is Sony (52X). The colour of the box is silver, and the colour of the CDROM drive is black (it was originally white, but the drive came with a black face new).

BRETT RESPONSE:
Hello Pascal,

Thanks for bidding on my Sony VAIO Picturebook micro laptop computer. I will post the package via insured mail within 24 hours of receipt of your (cleared) payment, but it would still take 5-7 week-days to reach you... At least you won't be without a computer for too long! Since bidding reached $500 or more (that is the amount that I was hoping to sell the computer for), I will be including the USB CDROM drive with the notebook for no extra charge.

Please fill out the online payment form from the auction page to find out the total cost and to send me your postal address, and then transfer- or deposit- the the total amount (item cost + postage cost + optional postal insurance cost) into the following bank account:

Bank Branch Number (BSB):   036044
Bank Account Number (A/C):   179385
Account Name:   2Bit Devices
Bank Name:   Westpac (known as Challenge in WA)

Note: If may have forgotten to add this to the payment form, but I am offering optional postal insurance for a cost of $5 extra, which I would recommend using.

Please send me a quick email after you've sent the payment. I will send you a confirmation email once your payment has cleared...

Thanks,

- Brett

P.S. If you require the item(s) to be sent to an address that is different from your eBay postal-address, please let me know so that I can record the changes...

Dear Brett,

My wife is going to go to a westpac bank monday morning and deposit the funds directly into your account, so they should appear in your account straight away. Please send the goods (And thank you also for the CDrom) as soon as possible. Unfortunately I cannot stay without a PC for too long. I was going to ask you if could send with next day delivery or overnight service, but I am not sure of the cost nor if you can insure it this way. Please confirm the amount to send you: AU$552 ($525bid+$22.5postage+$4.50insurance). Like I said I am willing to pay a bit more for overnight service (About in the $20 more) but only if it is insurable. When you go to post the goods if it is possible to do overnight insured, then please do it and I will do an internet banking transfer for the surplus of postage cost. (Do not worry I will pay you, I do not want negative feedback as I have100% feedback, and I like my feedback). Have a nice weekend.

Best regards,
Pascal

BRETT RESPONSE:
Hello Pascal,

Australia Post does offer an "Express" (i.e. overnight) delivery service however most of WA and NT are out of the "Express Post Network"... Express Post would cost around $100, so in my opinion it's not worth using for parcels (it is very useful for letters etc though at around $5-$10 per article). The funds should appear in the bank account during Monday, and if so I will mail the Sony VAIO Picturebook on the same day (I will pack it all tomorrow/Sunday)...

I will also leave you positive feedback on eBay after your payment arrives on Monday.

Thanks again,

- Brett

Did you post the item on Tuesday?

Hi Pascal,

I certainly did and it should be there around about now. If not, I would say definitely within 1-2 days max because it usually takes 5-10 days for this sort of thing.

Thanks again,

MY EMAIL TO HIM:
Hello Brett,

Yes please provide me with the tracking code. My wife (Not very patient) has been bugging me ever since Thursday about the laptop. If I can tell her where it is, may be she'll stop.
Thank you.

Pascal

MY EMAIL TO HIM:
Hello Brett,

So far no luck, and my wife does not stop asking me where is this laptop?
Do you have some tracking info, so I can check where this puppy is.

Pascal

BRETT RESPONSE:
Hello Pascal,

The package was mailed on Wednesday morning, 8-Dec via registered and insured surface mail. I am expecting it to be there any time now - I would say that it will arrive within the next couple of days or so... I am still waiting for a $185 eBay item that was mailed from country NSW over two weeks ago (I find it a little annoying), so I would say that we are on track assuming that the package will arrive very soon from now. Please let me know when you have it.

From your request, I will pop into the post office tomorrow morning and will copy down the tracking code from my account for you, so that I can email it to you later in the day (when I am home).

Please let me know if there is anything else that you want me to retrieve while I am at the PO...

Thanks again,

Hello,

I will certainly let you know when the package arrive, whenever you are at the post office, please ask them if they can track the item. Checking the item specification on ebay once again, I noticed that you are no longer registered on ebay. I have to say right now this is not boosting my confidence.

Best regards,
Pascal
BRETT RESPONSE:
Hello Pascal,

I will do. Yes eBay blocked my account because the incorrectly thought that my account was "associated with another account". I can forward you the emails if you don't believe this. It is pathetic as my positive record was growing very quickly. I will get back to you later today about the package.

Thanks again,

Hello Brett,

Yes I know what you mean, this happen when they suspect you of bidding on your own item to create + feedback as a seller. Unfortunately right now, I am bit confused myself as your bank is in Perth, you are apparently in Broome, the item seems to be in Fitzroy. At this stage I'd like you to send me your address, full name, and explain what exactly "2bit devices" is. If you would be in my position, I am sure you would feel a bit suspicious and confused right now. You said item was posted Tuesday, then Wednesday, I am not accusing you of anything, but please give me some information and make me feel good about all this.

Best regards,
Pascal
BRETT RESPONSE:
Hello Pascal,

Yes my bank account was originally from Perth but I am in Broome at the moment for work reasons. For some reason eBay automatically registers my post code (6725) as Fitzroy WA which is relatively very nearby to Broome (it is in the centre of the northern-most geographical region in WA where as Broome is in the Western part of that region), for my auctions. 2Bitdevices is simply the name of a business bank account.

Yes the package was going to be mailed on Tuesday, but was mailed first thing Wednesday morning instead because I simply didn't have time to make it to the post office by 5pm on Tuesday. Not sure whether you need anything else - yes I understand that you are a little worried because of eBay blocking my account but that doesn't effect my remaining buying and selling transactions. As I mentioned, I am still waiting for a few items that I have won and payed for via eBay from almost two weeks ago from now or so.

Thanks,

- Brett
MY EMAIL TO HIM:
Hello Brett,

If you read your email below (REFERRING TO ONE OF THE MESSAGE ABOVE), you are saying that the package was sent 8 Dec via registered and insured surface mail, the 8 Dec was yesterday or did you mean the 2 Dec? I can understand that instead of sending Tuesday 1st you sent Wednesday 2nd - it has happened to me too, that I am late in shipping an item. What I cannot understand is why you keep telling me you are going to send me some tracking information and you never do. I am waiting everyday anxiously for the postman, and nothing is coming. My wife keeps asking me where is the laptop, and there is not much I can tell her. I have retrieved some of you information from ebay, and here is what I have:
Name:   Ben K Mac
Company:
City:   Broome
State/Territory:   Western Australia
Country:   Australia
Phone:   080891926885
If your name is Brett, how come you registered to Ben, I suppose the phone does not work either.
I have to say, and may be I am being paranoiac about all this, but certainly nothing is looking in your favor right now. So before I continue my investigation, I will give you a chance to refund me the money.
If I ever get the laptop, I will re transfer you the money by internet banking, $552 plus I will add another $10 so you can buy yourself some beers down the pub, and I will provide a full apology, and if your ebay ID is re-instated, I will also leave positive feedback plus a note that shipping is slow from WA. If by Monday I have not received the refund I will continue deeper in the investigation and report this transaction to the police, your bank, your ISP, ASIC, ebay, and WA department of justice, which I have already downloaded the form. Like I said I am may be I am being paranoiac about this but nothing is looking in your favor, you have to understand my position, you are not giving me any information such as proof of postage, $552 is a large sum of money for us, if we were rich we would have bought a brand new laptop, this represent quite a few months of savings for my wife. Right now I did not need this as I am already stressed about something else, this is just too much. Like I said I am an honest person, I always pay for my items, you should have my real phone number. If I receive this laptop I will definitely credit your account within 24 hours, for now you have to make me feel better about this, and really the only way would be either to refund the money by the end of the week, or send proof of postage plus driver's license ID.
Here is the account you should credit:
Pascal De Gaillande

BANK: St George bank
BSB: 112-879
ACC:
REMOVED FOR SECURITY REASON

I am really sorry about that, but if by Monday you have not satisfied my demands, I will have no other alternative than to report you.

Regards,
Pascal

Hi Pascal,

Sorry, I meant to say 2-Dec, I replied to your message just after I got up this morning (3am for me)... My telephone number is indeed 9192-6885 and my name is Brett, however I registered as Ben because eBay did the exact same thing (i.e. blocking my account after a few months for false reasons) to me earlier this year.

If you must take a temporary refund for now that is fine - I can obviously trust that you would re-transfer the money back into my bank account once the laptop arrives (there isn't any reason why it shouldn't do). I will refund the money to you TODAY and will email you a screen shot of the refund receipt as proof of payment.

I havn't retrieved the tracking codes yet because I have so many, and I need to ask the post office specifically for the code of your package, which is surprisingly tricky.

If there is anything else you need, please let me know.

Thanks again,

- Brett

MY EMAIL TO HIM:
Dear Brett,

According to Australia post, the parcel should have put in between 4-6 Business day, considering its Christmas, I would suppose there would be some delay. But if by next Wednesday it is not here, it would mean 2 weeks have past, I can understand such transaction would be longer in between Broome and some country location, but Broome to Sydney, I find it a bit hard to believe, if you have sent this parcel, I would recommend you to start looking in to it as from Monday. Today I have again waited anxiously and nothing yet.  As soon as I receive the parcel I will send you again the money, provided I receive it first, plus I will add the $10 more for the drinks and an apology. Do not worry I will pay you, after all I am the one registered on ebay with my real name, my real address, and 100% feedback mostly from sellers and over 120 transactions. If ever this ends up positively, I am also willing to help you if you need any references for the ebay issue you are having. If you really want to use ebay in the future, I am suggesting you come clean with  all these name and address issue. But for now I am still on my guard so long the money has not clear.

Best regards,
Pascal

It shouldn't take until next Wednesday for it to arrive... It should really be there today or possibly Monday I would guess.

Please send me a confirmation email once you have received the temporary refund - again this only takes 1-2 days max, so the funds will clear either today or on Monday.

Hello,

Today no laptop, no money.
If you have sent it like you say you did, I just do not understand why wouldn't you go to the post office to check it.
So far all of this does not look to good to me. The minimum you should have done is go to the post office and try to track it down. I understand there is no point in going to the post office, if you did not sent it at the first place. The more I look into it the more fishy it looks to me, you are really not trying to help me.

Hello Pascal,

I understand that my account-blocked-status does not give a good sign however I feel a little uncomfortable myself at the moment, because the funds have left my account for your temporary refund, and I am worrying about the computer all the time now.

I went to the post office this afternoon to file a search for the article. I am very busy at work at the moment - I start work at 8am and finish at 6pm and do not receive a lunch break... as you can see, it is surprisingly difficult for me to get to places like post offices and banks, who open and close within the hours that I work.

I will be at the post office again on Monday to follow up on the search. Please inform me when the refund has cleared - if not tonight, it would be either Monday morning or Monday night at the very latest, basing this on previous transfer timing.

If there is anything else that you would like to confirm please let me know. All I wanted to do was sell a computer and I don't want you to run into any further doubts. If you would like my home address and telephone number, let me know.

Thanks,

- Brett

MY EMAIL TO HIM:
Hello Brett,

May be this is just a big misunderstanding, but put yourself in my position. We sent you $552 for an item, we should have received this week or at last today, I did told you as well that I needed it urgently, the deal was, we were going to do a direct deposit so you could check on Monday afternoon and send the item later in the afternoon, you had agreed to this, you even told me you would pack it on Sunday and send it Monday when the money would have shown in your account. In the main time I find out that you are no longer registered on ebay, I find out that you are not using your real name on Ebay, I find out the address is a bit dodgy, I found out the bank I sent you the money to, is not even in the same city as you live, and I do not know what 2bit devices exactly is apart from a business name. I found out that you sent the item on Wednesday, though before you told me you sent on Tuesday. But come on wouldn't you be a little suspicious if you were me. I understand the hours you work do not leave you the time for this type of things, I always thought it was not a good system, specially for banks, post offices. I also understand you might be concern for the PC, BUT if you have sent it INSURED, like I have repeated you to do in my emails, you have nothing to worry about especially if it is registered, now if you worry about me not paying you if I receive the laptop, again you have nothing to worry about, but for now I have not got the temp refund, it does not show in my account yet, somehow to me it looks like the same story as the laptop. In the main time, I am the one coping it from my wife...she is going overseas in a week now, so hopefully I'll get the bloody thing, and this story will end...I was lucky she did not go when she was supposed to, I would have been left without a pc for over a week.
So in theory, the money should show in my account by Monday Midnight, if not this would be just too many coincidences, and I will get the Police involved as of Tuesday, because I have wasted too much time on this already. So if you have not sent the refund yet, I would suggest you do so right now. You say you are feeling a bit uncomfortable right now, I feel uncomfortable since a few days already because I did not receive what I paid for.
So yes, I want more than your address, I want a copy of your driver's license, it should not be a problem if you are so genuine and have nothing to be alarmed about, I also want to know what you do for a living if you do not mind.

Regards,
Pascal

Hello Pascal,

Well there shouldn't be a problem because the money has already left my account (Friday) in regards to it appearing by Monday night... It seems as though you are implying that I am here to rip you off because of my de-registration from eBay, which I assure you is totally incorrect. I have always had a good eBay record (you can still check this) and all that happened was an account suspension because of an initial misunderstanding between me and eBay earlier this year (the most recent one was my third account in total). Yes the parcel was insured but I have been through the claims process before, and it is a 5-month nightmare to get anything back from Australia Post... And I remember that I ended up only receiving HALF of my money back because they said that I couldn't prove that the parcel got damaged DURING postage and not AFTER... I don't feel too comfortable sending out information such as my drivers license or etc through emails because I read a story on the eBay forums about someone's bank details and name being stolen and used to set up and pay for fees on eBay, because eBay runs an automatic/manditory fee deduction system via client's bank accounts.

In the mean time please let me know if you have further queries... Also, please inform me when your temporary refund transfer has cleared.

Thanks,

- Brett Mcken

MY EMAIL TO HIM:
Dear Brett,

I will wait for the refund. So far nothing as of saturday afternoon.
If the funds have left your account, I can see no reason why I should not receive them by Monday night.
If I receive the laptop Monday or any day after that, I will wait the fund to clear then send them again plus $10.
I will apologize. End of the story. On the other hand if you do not receive the laptop or the refund by tuesday, it is going to get complicated for me and a lot more complicated for you.
So far you have made nothing to re assure me.

Best regards,
Pascal

MY EMAIL TO HIM:
Dear Brett,

I am trying hard to get a little bit of faith in you right now. As soon as I get the refund I will certainly let you know.
For now I just want to forget about this until Monday night. I already had a fight with my wife because of this transaction, I just want to get  her money back, until I receive the laptop. This transaction is turning out to be the worst I have ever experienced, so far you really did not help me getting to trust you at all. On the receipt you sent me, I noticed that the payment was submitted the 9/12 and payment date is 10/12 which leads me to believe that this could have been a scheduled payment that you could have stopped after.  So really I think I have given you plenty of chances, but I am sorry to say, that if by Tuesday morning the refund is not in the account, they will not be much you can do or say to make me believe that you are not trying to scam me. You understand that if the money has left your account it cannot be going missing, there is no way (I am not that stupid), If I do not receive the money by Tuesday morning it means you are just wasting my time, and you are stealing my money. For $552, there is no way I am going to let it go, I will do everything I can to get it back. I already have been in touch with Zuicider one of your unhappy customer, and he told me a lot about you. I think I have been very patient with you, but hopefully it is ending Tuesday morning.

Pascal

Hello Pascal,

Your money will be there at midnight or so Monday and the computer itself SHOULD be there very soon too. No of course money can't go missing through a funds transfer - the only waiting period is a day or two where the banks like to play with the money.

You keep saying that I havn't done anything to give you trust etc but what do you want me to do? I have already given you a temporary refund and have already answered most of your queries regarding my eBay account block etc. I don't know if there is anything else that I could give you other than those things.

- Brett

MY EMAIL TO HIM:
Dear Brett,

I log on so many time into the account to see if the money has arrived, I actually know my card by heart now.
Nothing so far as of Sunday. I am glad you acknowledged the money cannot go missing. From experience as well, I know that the account to account transfer takes 2 business days maximum when done online, it just does not exist three business day or four or whatever, by law it is 2 days max, then the bank have to let it go, my mother has been a banker for over 25 years, so believe me I know about banks. I am not going to speculate anymore and waste my time and your time, and patiently wait until midnight Monday. I expect you to go to the post office Monday to track the parcel, if it is registered, then each time the parcel has left a delivery center, it should have been scanned. The post office should know exactly where it was last before going missing if it did. Again they cannot say, they can't know, because these bar code serve this purpose, I am not going to explain how the post office work either.
So far I must say, you did not honor most of the deal.
1. You did not sent me the tracking information as you said you would in your auction.
2. You did not sent me proof of postage like I asked.
3. You did not sent me a scan or picture of your driver's license like I asked.
To gain my trust you could have sent the
1. ebay's emails, you told me about. You did not.
2. You could have sent a picture of your bank statement showing the money actually left (You could easily have masked with a paint program, all the other information that does not concern me). You did not
3. You could have tell me more about yourself, such as your job, your full address, 2bit devices. You did not
4. You also failed to comment on "Zuicider", what he told me about you and all the info he gave me, it's really what I did not want to hear or learn.

I mean there are many things you could have done, you did not. So lets see Monday Night.
What else can I say. Wouldn't you'd be suspicious if you were me? Come on.

Also like I told you, my wife and I are in a very delicate situation right now financially, we have another big problem, which I will not disclose, but this problem might cause us to lose something we have both worked very hard for. I am unemployed right now and we have three kids to look after, when we both agreed the laptop was going to be handy because she is flying next Saturday to try and resolve this problem I am talking about, she gave me the green light to bid on it, and we really thought very hard about this purchase, I mean really, with this problem, we really did not need to be scammed at this stage. My wife is so piss of about it, and when I told her we might have been scammed, her exact word were "I really don't need this right now". Even thought we are not running on gold right now, we are HONEST people. On the account where you sent me the money I have only $400 (I have no problem in showing the statement if you would like), it is the reason why I told you I could not pay you for the laptop if the fund you sent me did not clear before. Even though I am broke myself, I do not try to scam people on ebay or anywhere else, I could easily if I wanted too. But I am an honest man, I am a man of my word, and I really cannot understand the state of mind of people who try to scam other people, and profit by deceiving people and constantly lying to them.
So may be because I am currently unemployed I am being paranoiac about this, but so far you have not been of great help to me. So I repeat myself again, I might not be rich, but I am far from being an idiot, If by Monday night the money has not cleared, it is as clear as water what is happening.

Regards,
Pascal

ANOTHER EMAIL TO HIM:
Brett,

So far no money, I am having a hard time trying to believe I will ever receive it before tonight.
Be a man, and admit you are stealing my wife's money. If not go to your bank and do a direct deposit into my account. And It will all be over. If not I will make sure the police arrest you, and I will sue you to recover my wife's $552. If you are intelligent enough, you should know that you could loose a lot more than $552. In order to recover for the money, the state might seize any of your belonging, including you house (If you own it). As of tomorrow, I am contacting all the authorities, I will also make sure you never trade on ebay anymore. You have wasted a lot of my time, you have lied to me, you have cause pain to my wife and myself, and a lot of stress we did not need now.
Do the right thing, once in your life, and it will be over. I am not expecting the laptop anymore, I know you did not send it.

regards,
Pascal

Pascal,

We have been through this and I am telling you that your refund will appear either early this morning or late tonight. WHY are you so quick to jump to the conclusion that I am scamming you when I have already refunded your money??? If it hasn't turned up early this morning, then it HAS to at mid-night or so tonight.

Brett

MY EMAIL TO HIM:
Brett,

It is 5:43pm Monday night, I find it hard to believe the money has not cleared by now. And I have very little faith right it will. Do you take pleasure in this? Here is the phone number of FITZROY CROSSING POLICE 08 9191 5000.
Give me a good reason why I should not call them tomorrow. All I asked you was my money back, I know you never sent the laptop, you probably did not have it either. Why don't you come clean, do you prefer jail for $552. Perhaps other have let it go, but actually I won't, this is too much money. By midnight if the money is not in there, tomorrow I will call the police of Fitzroy and have an investigation opened, believe me I did not want this to happen, but you really pushed my buttons. If I would have received my money, this would have been the end of the story...but you have just asked for it to continue so it will. Like I said you never gave me proof of anything, no proof of postage, no ID, no bank statement, nothing. YOU ARE SCAMMING me. And I had enough of it.

Subject: Re: Re:Re:Re:Re:eBayItem:SonyVAIOPicturebookMICROLaptopNotebookComputer(Item#6724744004)

Hello Pascal,

Okay then let's cut the crap. You are correct when you said that I could have just "scheduled" the refund payment without actually paying it because I canceled the payment about half a day after I scheduled it. You are also correct in saying that I could not provide you with a registered post number, because the computer was not sent by registered post, even though I stated that it would be. However you are incorrect about saying that this whole this was a scam to start with, because the computer DOES exist (I can take as many photos as you like, of any section that you like, as proof), and I DID mail it off to you within a few days of the auction's end. The computer was delivered to the local post office on 2-Dec and was mailed via standard parcel post (I have the Australia Post receipt here which I can photograph if you like as proof).

Since nothing has turned up at your end in the form of a parcel, and since I lied to you about the registration and the refund (because I was simply waiting for an un-insured parcel to reach you), and since you are threatening legal action, I am prepared to refund your money immediately however you wish - e.g. with a screenshot of my online bank statement or with a photograph of a cheque or money order. On top of the immediate refund I am prepared to pay you $600, where the extra amount is some sought of compensation for your wasted time.

In the end I will still be left with no computer and with a possible lost parcel, which was my fault.

Thank you,

- Brett

This way there is no waiting game - your money will appear almost instantly as available funds. I can do this tomorrow (i.e. Tue).

Thanks ,

Hello Pascal,

I enquired about St Georges Bank branches in northern Western Australia and found that there aren't any located up here, so after a few phone calls, I have had a business contact down in Perth deposit $600 into your bank account via deposit slip (not online transfer) at the St Georges Retail Banking Centre in the centre of Perth (by coincedence, which is on St Georges Terrace), between 4:00pm and 5:00pm this afternoon (WA time which is currently 3 hours behind the east coast...). I will try to have the deposit slip scanned (in Perth) and emailed to me, where I would then forward the picture to you. I don't know how quickly the banks process deposit slips but I assume either at the end of each day (similar to Westpac ATM deposits), or on the spot (similar to Westpac teller deposits).

Thanks,

- Brett

MY EMAIL TO HIM:
Brett,

For now it is 10pm here and it should be 7pm in WA, I checked in my account, and there is no money. So to me it looks like the bullshit continues, but not for long now. Direct deposit appear straight away in your account, not in a week or 15 years. You tried to come clean, then you get even dirtier. You make me laugh now, you can't refund the $552 I am asking for, and now you attempting $600. Really, you must think I am idiot, well you will see who will laugh the last one very soon.

Dear Pascal,

I just contacted the person who was to do this yesterday afternoon (at 4:00/5:00pm) and it turns out that he has not yet done it, because of time constraints (which is fair enough). I was under the impression that it would be done, sorry if I mislead you there.

Like I said yesterday morning, there will be no more bullshit or lies.- It is Tuesday night now and so I want to get this matter resolved promptly i.e. by Wednesday, no further, as this is getting silly.

There are simply two things that I can do - I can have the funds direct deposited into your bank in Perth most likely at midday, or I can simply transfer the funds at daytime online via internet banking (NOT scheduled) and send you a screen image of the statement afterwards - not very hard.

Please inform me preferably early in the morning (as much before midday as possible) which process you wish for me to do. If you can't get back to me by midday then I will only be able to perform the second process (online transfer with statement image).

I received your email this morning and as I mentioned will have the money direct deposited at midday today in WA (if not, via internet transfer with the appropriate screen shots)... Okay no worries, but I am at work right now as I mentioned and won't be home until about 5:30pm. I can do the transfer here at work easily, but I wouldn't be able to save screen shot a copy and save it here because of security limits on these PCs...
